Travelling up the M6 on Friday, my Garmin turned off and the pc/ link image was shown on the screen. This then went into a full reboot. I also noticed that when the ignition was turned on again, the unit went into full reboot. When trying to add a place to My Favourites, the car icon turned from blue to yellow before freezing the screen for up to a minute. I tried a hard reset and went to work yesterday. It seems to have cleared some of the faults, but touching icons shown on the screen to see what they are reporting resulted in a shut down and restart.
I have seen there is a software update available from my current v7.60
If anyone has any other suggestions, I would be grateful, because if it fails tomorrow it will have to go back to Currys
Thanks

Doesn't sound good. Initially reading your post I suspected a cable issue, as though your nuvi was believing it was attached to a PC, but if touching icons on the screen cause a shut down/restart that indicates something different. You say you've done a hard reset, do you mean a full master reset? If not then I'd try that first

If you do go back to Currys for an exchange ensure you copy the current.gpx file from the GPX folder on your nuvi to your PC, this will enable you to restore all your favourites etc onto the new device. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
