News: 50% Of Drivers Fined At Under 70mph On M1 Stretch

Since their introduction in September 2013, average speed cameras on the M1 have caught approximately 20,000 speeding drivers. They have raised £1.7 million in fines.

The "smart motorway" speed cameras are sited between Junctions 10 and 13 and are designed to catch speeders either at the national speed limit of 70mph or when circumstances dictate that the speed limit should be lowered.
