The problem seems to be what TT call POi's and what we call POI's (cameras files amd warnings) are poles apart.
I think TT are realising that this functionality, or lack of, is hurting sales so a little creative text is being used. _________________ Satnav:

Interesting confusion by TomTom
It may have hurt their sales if I'd read all this before purchase, now Currys have my money! |

Take it back as not fit for purpose, they can't argue with that.

Mark | I fear they can! Back along, "we/users" made a fuss about them not allowing third party POIs. A powerful argument was existing personal POIs could no longer be installed - such POIs being, for example, a set of customers locations that we have to visit, we need to navigate to them. That requirement has now been met, we can install our own POI sets and navigate to them. They would no doubt argue that you don't need proximity warning for a POI to which you are navigating.
Of course, the argument that we want the facility to install the pgpsw cameras is not likely to persuade TT to provide it - the argument that they should make provision for competitors to compete is not a weighty one!
I guess the only chance of getting pgpsw cameras working on a TT device is to persuade them that their cameras are rubbish and maybe give them a cut on the price of ours? _________________ Dennis

Oh well, it's started acting up now. Yesterday it acquired very quickly but kept losing the signal on open roads. It also turned itself off randomly.
I'll take it back after Christmas, I was going to get a Garmin but I think I'll go for another Start 25 refurb from Argos, I hope to goodness they still allow easy 3rd party poi installation on that model. |

But it isn't just the PGPSW files that are the issue. My big issue was that 13 years of customers' locations that have been gathered can't be loaded to the unit in the way I need them. I use the image file to help me out in finding customers I am passing in areas not local to me. I had to go to the Garmin for that facility now. I also have a BP garage file so I can find the nearest and see them on the map whilst driving. I also have a category for aquarium shops that specialise in marine, something TT don't provide. TT need to bring back full functionality really.
