Hi

I have a spreadsheet with 8000 London POI on it.
It shows name, address, postcode, and type (of POI.

Is there anyway of putting them on to TT as a POI even it means bundlling
them all into one category.

I was hoping there was some sort of cut and paste way of doing it!

PS Im using a MAC

Cheers Confused

You're going to have to convert the addresses into Lat/Lon before you can do anything with them?

The OV2 format that is normally used requires 3 fields for each location.

Longitude,Latitude,"Name Text"

I only know of Windows programs that do the conversion, of which I would use the XLS Converter from our very own Oldie.

The .xls converter still requires your data has Lat/Lon information before it can work.

Until you have that, there is no simple conversion utility that will read an address and convert to Lat/Lon or a standard POI format.

If you can import the data into a copy of MS AutoRoute, it can then be exported into a format that can be read by POIEdit (& possibly XLS Converter). This will use the postcodes to create latitude/longitude information, so won't be absolutely precise, but will get most of them on the correct street, within 100 yards or so of the correct location.

Unfortunately AutoRoute 2007, the latest version, doesn't handle the Channel Isles Postcodes. Sad

It doesn't like some of the addresses much either.

Hi
Just been using the xls convereter, it's brilliant, so thanks to Oldboy for the link and thanks to Oldie for making the converter available. I had around 9000 poi's which were sorted in seconds
