Deleting Pre Installed POI's

I have found that by renaming the DAT file (blue notepad) named 'poi' located in the Great Britain map folder the pre installed POI's are prevented from loading. The unit appears to work normally after this. I would suggest you copy the SD card to disk before renaming the file. None of the pre installed poi's load but all the ones I have added work as normal. Rename back to 'poi' to revert to normal

The Major Roads of Europe (MRE) maps supplied on CD don't have any POI's - but they do have a small (dummy?) POI file. You could probably copy that to the Great Britain directory?

Pity you can't save memory by getting rid of selected categories of Pre-Installed POIs
