Speed Camera Locations published?

I seem to recall hearing somewhere that the Freedom of Information Act requires the relevant authorities to publish the location of speed/safety cameras. Is this true?

If so, does this provide a better route for updating the camera files rather than relying on individuals to send in information in bits and drabs?

Hi Roger,

You may well be right, and a lot of authorities and camera partnerships already publish their fixed and mobile site locations. However the locations given are very inaccurate and are only the road name. Which isn’t accurate enough for us to place the camera in the correct location.

We still need everybody who uses our database to send in details of new/moved/removed cameras, to keep the database as accurate as possible.
