I bet you all know what I am going to ask from the subject heading .....

From my use of TTGo it always seems to default, on the main route, to the major roads. This is great because if you are having a 25ft box on the back you don't really want to be going down side streets....

How ever it would be nice also NOT to go through the centre of major towns on your route with all that entails... Crying or Very sad

Now is it possible (without doing the avoid road bit) to say that you don't want to go through a town ---

I probably am not making my self very clear here - but I am sure those of you with caravans will understand and any pointers would be helpfull... :D

Hi Fibre,

You are making yourself clear, and unfortunately there isnt a way of the sort of town centre avoidance you are describing. However the GO will normally pick the most major road, which will not normally go through the town centre.

If on the other hand you are going through some interesting country routes to your destination then the town centre is often your best option anyway. I am thinking here of some years ago when up in Norfolk there are very few by-passes round the costal towns, and the town centre avoidance is normally by using small residential roads, not something I would recommend with the van.

Thanks for the prompt reply -- I sort of felt that was it !!! Embarassed

Does it do the same with the continental towns as well... Question

We have got TTGo to help us navigate through France as well... and think it is realy great in the UK...

I have always used Autoroute and printed the route off previously so that we had a (sort of) idea where we were Laughing

Looking forward -to the latest French maps -- if they ever come out befor my holiday !!!
