OK O'knowledgable ones 8O , I need to get to a car park in the wilds of the Welsh hills. It is marked on the OS 1:50k Landranger map but is too remote from any meaningfull address (a-la the usual TTG input ). I can get an accurate position using my Fugawi digi map stuff on my PC, either in 8 fig OSGB coords. or any combination of degs/mins/secs lat/long coords. Is there an easy way to input this?

If you can put the lat/long into a text file using something like Notepad, ie. -2.12345,51.12345,"Car_Park".

Save with a filename such as A. Download 1 of the POI converters that are available. I use MakeOV2 personally.

This will convert A.txt to A.ov2 plus A.ov2 files.

Copy files to map folder on TTG and then navigate to POI/category A/entry.

I've had this dilemma with some work sites. I've just gone to "Browse Map" and found the place. Put the cursor on it and chosen "Navigate There". You can also save it as a Favourite/PoI while you are at it.

When you get there you can create a new POI category and add POI by GPS or add as a favourite.

Many thanks ob &sg;
ob where do I get "makeOV2" from? Although I can claim to have a degree in "Sums & Magic" (Maths & Physics) I must admit I have not exercised myself in this respect for many years. I shall give your method a go if it is not too grey matterly demanding.
In meantime, sg, I have tried your way and eyeballed posn. of said anonymous parking area using TTG zoomed on relevant area and 1:50k Fugawi map. Shall compare posn. accuracy with ob's method when I've worked out how to do it !!
