I got a Tomtom Go as a christmas present and it will arrive beginning of this week. Reading the forums iv'e seen the problems with windscreens blocking the signal, do the Peugeot 206 (GTI -02) have these problems?

Is it possible to log NMEA-data and retrieve it on the PC? Tomtom navman apparently has this feature but i havn't found anything about logging with the TTG.

Thanks.

Yes i think they do have athermic windscreens, but if you can get hold of an external antenna, you will benefit 100%, even if it doesn't, it will boost the signal received, and get better satellite lock.

As to logging, NMEA-data, NO.

I have a 307 with the funny windscreens (all the Peugeots have them). I can’t get any sat nav system to work including my road angle without an external ariel. However when fitted you get big big signals.

Two options
1 A buy ariel some are cheaper than others (I got mine from blackspot and was over charged)

2 Buy a new car

Iv'e seen the external antenna from tomtom in stock for ~ €76 (euro)

How do you install the antenna in a good way? I don't like the idea of having cables running down the roof. Behind the reerviewmirror there's a black dotted area maybe you could place the antenna there.

Logging and/or the ability to get NMEA-data from the usb interface are feature i will be lobbying for Smile

went for a drive today in my Pug 206 (04 plate) - good reception all the way from Mansfield area to Lincoln and back, so not sure what window problems you are expecting Confused

I have a 206 03 plate. My ttgo didn't function, at best and with a lot of fiddling I got 1-2 bars for a short period of time.
I actually have the glass panoramic roof and it function OK through that,
In the end I just bought an external antenna.

installation is extremely neat, and completely stealth. Apart from the GPS aerial itself which is next to the aerial at the rear.

You can hid all the cable under the door rubber and behind the boot trim.

Works a treat with full 5 bars constantly.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Possible to post pictures of your stealth install - I like to get a re-radiating antenna and like the higher power RA-46. However this requires the 're-radiator' and gps antenna to not have line of site etc so an external install.

I like to install the external antenna ideally on the rear parcel shelf but can't, so wondered where the best place would be for a 'black hockey puck' to be located.
