Hi Guys,
First post please be gentle :D
Is it possible for the TomTom Go (or similar if any one has any recommendations) to upload a route of where the unit has been, i.e. to act as a tracking device but not in real time, if that makes sense.
Thanks in advance.

No. A lot of hand-held GPS's will do this, but not TTG.
There has been a lot of discussion about the feasibility of adding additional features to TTG - but no-one really knows what the developers' intentions are. As far as I can tell, such a feature would be feasible - it just needs the software!

Navman's iCN510 definitely does, it's possible that the 6xx range does, too. You can record a route, then convert it to .asc format and view the trail that way. _________________ Tim |

Hello and
As Roger says, there's no software available (or announced) at the moment for Go to provide the feature you want. It's the kind of feature that's available on handheld GPSes, and some software on more general purpose systems such as Pocket PCs.
If you know you need this functionality, I'd look to buy something general purpose. One example would be the Mitac Mio 168, which is a Pocket PC with a built in GPS - you can run various software packages on that hardware such as TomTom Navigator 3 for street navigation and GPS Tuner for tracklogs and similar. If you want several programs making use of your Pocket PC's GPS hardware at once, GpsGate will help.

David,
I thought TT3 included tracklogging? _________________ Tim |

Only in a very crude fashion - you can tell the TomTom GPS driver to record, and you can replay the file. All this does is save the raw input from the GPS to a file and replay it back to Navigator.
The files captured this way are quite large; if you want tracklogging for more general purpose use, software such as GPS Tuner is likely to be a better option.
I'm not sure exactly what logging features, if any, are provided on the TomTom "common platform" software, such as is used in Go.
