I use TomTom Go v 4.400 and find the POI feature fantastic. Especially the speed camera databases, which I find gives better rozzers protection than a £350 radar/laser detector I used to have.

My problem is that I think i've gone overboard with the number of POI databases I am using!

I have 65 new POI databases copied onto it now in addition to the standard pre-supplied ones, and each time I copy a new one it doesn't appear in the list of available POI's to enable/disable!

Please note this is not a problem about "How do I install a POI" - I have done this successfully many times, and am not a newbie!

Is anyone aware of a maximum number of POI databases one can use on their TomTom Go? If not has anyone had problems where you copy across a .ov2 and it's associated.bmp but the POI stubbornly refuses to appear on the Tom Tom Go display?

Cheers!

Unless I'm misremembering, the limit - which I also believe is 40 categories - applies only to add-in POI categories. The built in POI categories do not count towards the limit.

cheers guys, great quick response

so when I say i've got 65 total, i reckon there must be about 25 predefined ones, so yeah that tally's with 40 of your own.

I will delete a couple and report back. what's going to go, Mcdonalds, pizza hut, KFC....decisions decisions!

(anyone know WHY we are limited to just 65 POI categories???)

Well mine seems to have 42 built-in categories (including one or two which are really useful in the UK - like Frontier Crossing!) Smile

So if you can have another 40, that makes 82 - which is a pretty "un-round" number in any numbering system I can think of!.Odd!
