ASN and tunnels

I've had a chance to use the TTG with firmware 4.42 in various tunnels and with overpasses.
I can say with short overpasses the ASN works rather well negotiating your position, but in it doesn't seem to have clue in any tunnel going at speed (55+ mph).

I really think that the ASN is just some extropolated numbers based off of the past avg speed and direction. Not once has it been able to determine that i've entered a tunnel and i've begun to turn in any direction.

Early owners have reported that ASN stopped working properly after the 4.4x upgrades, and this has been tested by downgrading again. Hopefully a future 'bugfix' release from TomTom will fix this. It should work as it is implemented by a built-in accelerometer, not an extrapolation as you suggest.

Having said that, I have had perfect results from ASN recently through both Dartford tunnels, seem to be better since I fitted an external antenna, although I can't see why that should make a difference.
