Some of us have been following this subject for a while and are aware and looking forward to the upcoming CamerAlert 2.
I see today's CamerAlert twitter request to stay away from iOS7 and I suggest you publish this in the main page soonest - iOS7 will be all over the news and I fear most people will hit the update button |

I opened the app yesterday and a warning about iOS 7 flashed up. |

So, where does that leave me ? It appears I'm stuck with my last database download .... no other downloads are compatible ?
This is a disaster for me, I run pgps in the background all the time when driving |

We're currently beta testing an update to the current app to get it working with iOS 7. No ETA yet but this will be done first before we do CamerAlert 2 with the new features etc.

But on the upside my iphone 4 is now able to show maps without the "silent crash"! Keep up the good work - would love to get CamerAlert 2 soon & then I'll be able to update my database on the phone.

could we not have a declaration that says do you allow pwgps to recognise your device or unique number.
then its nothing to do with apple.

The UDID / MAC stuff is blocked in the code. If your app requests them you get a string of alphanumeric characters that ends up the same for every single device.
So even if we did ask each user then it would be useless anyway.

Yup, updated the app and successfully updated the database on Cameralert on my iPhone 5 running iOS7 today.
This also freed me up to be able to upgrade my work iPhone to iOS7 too - bonus!
Cameralert looks great! Sits so nicely inside the iOS7 theme!
How did you guys nail the subscription updates? |

Thanks - that's just the start of it. CamerAlert 2 will need iOS7 as a minimum so we can really go to town on the styles. My mock ups already look great and they're just static images!

I've just had a CameraAlert update on my iPhone 4 to make it compatible with iOS7. To be clear, after reading the recent posts on here, does this mean I can update my phone to iOS7 (or more accurately, iOS 7.0.2) and it will allow me to update my camera database?
I've two reasons for asking; firstly, my subscription is up for renewal shortly; secondly, I'm eligible to upgrade my phone to 4S or 5 right now, but either choice would come bundled with iOS7. |

Yep. The new design will also be on Android too on CamerAlert 2 with a base target OS of Android 4 so we can make use of the newer stuff.
