Is there an idiots guide for uploading third party POIs to a Start 60?
I use IE9 and Google Chrome on Windows7.
I have used the search facility on here but couldn't find the answer.
Many thanks.[/b] |

If the custom pois are on the computer, simply use the 'Add Community Content' link on the desktops's MyTomTom icon when you've connected to MyTomTom (get it at tomtom.com/getstarted) which you need for that device.
If these custom files are on an older TomTom device you have, then use the Content Transfer Assistant found here:

Just to add one detail to dhns excellent reply... If you use IE as your default browser, you MAY find that when you try to upload the POI files, you are unable to select several files at once. This is a bug/incompatibility in the way IE works.
If you switch to Chrome (or Firefox) as your default browser, then MyTomTom will use that, and you should be able to upload many POI files at once.
Oh, and just one more...
When you use "Add POI" in "Add community content" to load the POI files, you need to select the .ov2 data file, AND the .bmp icon file for each POI.
Finally, the PGPSW speed cameras are actually uploaded in exactly the same way as other POIs, so you can read the instructions to do that HERE, just ignore the bit about voice warning audio files as other POIs don't normally need those. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
