Just got an email from TomTom, map update plus 6 updates, only £74.95

What planet are they on? I'd pay half that, thanks.

I think he's talking Maps not Speed Camera!

Bad value and probably a mistake none the less

Must be a mis-print cos I'm sure I paid half that for 18 months updates a while back.

Edit: MAP plus updates makes more sense because don't you need to buy the latest map first, then the updates??

This is how the e-mail read:

"With the Easter holidays coming up, now is a great time to get Map Update Service and make sure you always drive with the latest map.
Even better, if you order Map Update Service before 22nd of April 2012 you’ll get 18 months for the price of 12.
You'll get the latest map straight away, and new updates every three months right up until November 2013 for £74.95."

I'll pass, thanks all the same...

I got one today:

Spring's here and now is a great time to join the TomTom Map Update Service to make sure you always drive with the latest map.

And right now for a limited time, if you join Map Update Service before April 22, you'll get 18 months of map updates for the price of 12!

You'll get the latest map right away and a new update every three months all the way to November 2013.

The cost was $71.95 Canadian (45.436425 Br. pounds at today's rate). Still not worth it....

€54.95 (c£47) here in Spain.

https://www.tomtom.com/es_es/shop/mapupdateservice/

I think that TomTom must have their exchange rates the wrong way round.

EDIT - This begs the question, Do you have to buy from the country specific web-site your TomTom is registered in? I've previously noticed that the TT refurb units are about 20% cheaper here because TT seem to apply a 1:1 £:€ exchange rate but for those you would need a foreign delivery address, however, downloadable maps should be Ok, don't you think?

EDIT, EDIT, Ahh! I've just noticed that the advertised prices are for UK & ROI v Spain & Portugal, Looks like I'm comparing apples against bananas. Sorry for the mis-information. Edit (again!) No I'm not; From the TT.uk website - Uk&Roi £39.95, Iberia £39.95 for a Go730.
