Hi Guys, any advice i've been using the app for months with no problem, but since updating to OS4 it crashes a lot, coming back from Wales last night I had to restart the app about 10 times, advice appreciated I don't want to go back to my old tomtom. |

Tell me about it! Mine won't last 30 minutes - imagine my joys on a round trip drive to Newcastle last week! Worked perfectly with OS3. It's to do with OS4 having stupid ideas about low memory, and pgpsw are looking into it (I hope!!!!!) _________________ Dennis

basically iOS4 is force closing loads of apps (including the inbuilt apple ones) and giving 'low memory' warnings... it's a lovely feature of iOS4. sadly it's not just CamerAlert that is affected by this.

So generally speaking, iPhone 4 and iOS4 both are proper klunky. I shall wait for your update of CamerAlert to suit iOS4 and hope you've cured it for this app - I don't care about other apps, cos I don't use any!
(Failing that, I've heard that it's possible to get back to OS3 if you put enough effort into it? I did try pressing the Restore button in iTunes which said it would take me back to original, which I fondly hoped would be OS3, but it wasn't, it was just 1 and 1/2 hours of wasted worry and panic to get all my stuff back which the restore dumped! I can imagine quite a market out there for the revert to OS3 method). _________________ Dennis

iPhone 4 is fine. not had any issues, the crashes are pretty much all on 3GS running iOS4 or 4.0.1

Sorry - I read and slightly believed some anti-hype about iPhone 4! _________________ Dennis

Cheers thought it must be an OS4 thing, good thing is it only takes seconds to restart app, could be a problem if Cameralert is able to multitask in the future and it's running in the background and you couldn't tell it crashed. |

v1.2 is currently being beta tested and will give full iOS4 compatibility. tests so far appear to have resolved the crashing issue you have faced.
