|
|
Hi Folks,
I have a Garmin Nuvi 1490T.
I have downloaded and installed the speed camera database (consolidated verion), via the Garmin poi loader. The speed alerts work, I get the audio alert, but instead of getting/seeing the different camera icons, all I see is a grey ball each time. I can however view the different camera icons on the pc ok.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks |

do you have any other POIs on there? it sounds like either:
1) you have more than 256 poi files (csv + bmp)
or
2) the bmp files are named differently to the csv's

When I update the camera files I usually says that I have uploaded something like 21000 pois. |

Check how many individual files there are in the folder POILoader uses to upload the POI files to the device, this folder will be on your PC, these will be in csv format I would expect - Mike |

255 is your limit so you need to be far more selective as to whats needed on the device, consider using the "Combine Sub-Cats" option if you are using the POI files from this site although with in excess of 5000 categories I wonder where you got them all from! - Mike |

Coaster, are you counting the individual POI entries (like Sainsburys in Wembly and Sainsburys in Harrow being two)?
We are talking about the actual POI files (such as Sainsbury.csv or Tesco.csv) that you would find on your PC before you send them to the Nuvi. |

My apologies guys. I've been counting cameras. I've just downloaded a POI file on supermarkets that has just over 8000 entries.
Using the "Combine Sub-Cats" does this count as one? |

forget the number of items in a file. we need to know how many FILES you have on your computer that you transfer tot he garmin.

The OP hasn't posted since his original message back in June - I don't think Coaster2 currently has a problem. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |
