I was recently interested in finding a phone that has been shown to be compatible with my TomTom GO 730 (and I still am).
So I searched using the words "TomTom Compatible phone" and i got 35662 suggested posts but after a while I gave up as none of them I looked at (and I really none of them) had any relevance to the words I searched for.
Am I the only one who finds searching an almost useless past time?
If not please explain how I can improve the chances of getting a couple of relevant posts in the 35662 offered to me? |

Try selecting "Search for all terms". Although this still returns 323 they do contain all those words. If you select "Search for any terms or use query as entered" you will get every post that contains "TomTom" or "compatible" or "phones".

I'd also suggest changing "Display results as: " to Posts rather than Topics. This can save having to search through a 20 page topic for the 1 relevant post.
I only discovered the usefulness of this recently 
However, you can sometimes get rather peculiar results!! Even using "Search for all terms" a search for "TomTom Home" will return 32000+ examples. As far as I can see, this is because the word Home appears at the top of every page!

Not at all, its because this wonderfull software creates so many problems that it crops up everywhere, if only I had a £1 for every thread answered caused be this useless software - dream on....... |
