As others have done I thought I would post some first impressions and thoughts now that the BES version of Telmap is working on my BlackBerry 8900 (thanks again Roi).

Menus:
Simple, clean and easy to use
    Logically laid out
Far easier to navigate/understand than Nav4All and more pleasing on the eye than amAze.
Everything in 'preferences' feels like it should be one level up in the menus other than Upgrade subscription which would be better under settings.

Functionality:
Simple to add favourites (Saved Locations) which I added for both Home and Work. The names for saved locations are much easier on the eye than with amAze.
Finding POIs is OK through the Directories-Place/Business. I just need to get used to the logic.
Setting up the navigation from home to work was very easy and logical to do.
Route calculation was quick and having deliberately gone a different way to suggested the recalculation was also relatively quick.
    Speed camera notification worked well.
Volume was not an issue for me for normal instructions, however the road names are much quieter and muffled.
'Time to destination' is very useful and having to roll the trackball on the BB to get it displayed while moving I think is potentially dangerous.
There's no way from inside the application to see current GPS information. It would be nice to have it.

So, in general not a bad start Very Happy

I'll get to try it in Germany & France next week and in the US a few weeks later so will see how it copes then (or I cope with it). I'm also wondering just how it's going to work in the situation where you start a journey without satnav signal and need it to just complete the journey setup when it can. This happens to me fairly often when picking up hire-cars at airports from multi-stories and needing to drive in the dark to an unknown town. Stopping later when you have a signal is not always easy or safe to do.

oooooooooh!

I just found the Contacts plugin so that you can navigate to your contacts address if populated. Nice.
