hi all, have lurked on here for a while, and would like a little reassurance before i sign up for your excellent camera sub.

i have a very old and out of date camera database which i used on a mobile phone based satnav. and i am trying to process it to use it on my garmin based kenwood dnx 5240bt unit.

i have managed to caress it into a decent .csv format which will process in poi loader to give me a gpi file which will work on my unit. however, i get alerted for EVERYTHING which gets really irritating, so i am now trying to process different proximity alerts based on camera speed etc.

i have used cbrom's (please forgive the noob if i got your name wrong) gpx converter, which produces gpx files which have correct proximity alert info in them, but when i use them to generate a gpi file via garmin poi loader, nothing shows up on my unit after poi update. Sad (even old locations that i know showed up on my other device.

i have looked around the net and seen that there are also gpx formatted with lots of "gpxx" entries at the beginning of the xml style extension entries.

would formatting my files like this produce better results?

is there a quick way of doing this? as i would like to get some kind of "easy" way of consistently processing the csv format pocketgps files before i subscribe.

thanks in advance for any info, as i have been wasting cd-rs like crazy trying to hit on a winning formula.
