After hunting for this baby for some time I found it at www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk for £299.95 including vat and P&P. Comes with lots extras and mio map which is destinator 3. Better than some places such as my fav expansys at £444. The website says waiting for stock but they have despatched mine so they haven't updated it yet.

Are you sure that it comes with sat-nav software at that price? The page describing the Mio 168 on the Global Positioning Web site makes no mention of navigation software and the two reviews specifically make the point that there is no GPS software included:

Global Positioning do offer a package of the Mio with Tom Tom 3 for £374.95 which seems pretty good value, especially as it includes a 128MB SD card:

Alternatively, Expansys are doing the Navman version of the Mitac PDA, with the SmartST V2 navigation software, for £384.95. This has the attraction of coming with street-level maps of 16 European countries.

I hope, for your sake, you are right and that you do get navigation software with your PDA.

BTW, Mitac will soon launching more GPS products, according to this report from the Computex trade show in Taiwan:

In fact, there seem to be lots of GPS goodies on the way from the Far East, including a handheld GPS receiver with built-in Bluetooth and GPRS comms:

You are quite right. My mio 168 arrived but no mapping software. My error....most reviews stated 'mio map comes from factory'. Sorry all. I am still well pleased and feel I have a real bargain....worth every penny.
