I have upgraded from Igo 2006 to Igo 8 using Navngo website.
I have a Medion MDPNA100 and couldn't get the 2006 version to work on it. It came up with "HardwareIDerror" message. THIS WAS NOT RELATED TO ILLEGAL SOFTWARE despite what it says on PDAMil.
It ran perfectly well on a friends Mio 168.
Now I have tried to run the updated Igo 8 on the Medion and it gets to the opening blue screen where it shows it is loading everything. It quickly comes up with "INIT API" in bottom right hand corner and comes to a halt.

iGO 8 only comes on a MicroSD Card complete with Mini SD and SD adapters.
Either your Medion MDPNA100 isn't compatible or your software could be a copy, in either case you won't get it working. _________________ PGPSW Grand Finale Prize 2010 - TomTom Via LIVE 120 EUROPE. Which my son has stolen since he got a driving job so I'm back with

Is your MDPNA100 Win2003 and perhaps your friends Mio168 updated to Win2003se,I understood the medion was a cloned Mio168 so this may be your problem, certainly my mates mio168 is updated 2003se and is running igo8 perfectly and i am sure the MDPNA100 is upgradeable if i remember, I have now upgraded to asus a695 so getting a bit rusty on the mio and clones. _________________ Asus a696 Win6, TTN7.450, UK725.1871

Why do people always jump on the piracy bandwaggon, the Op quite clearly says he updated from the Navngo site and its not related to Illegal software, at least give people the benefit of doubt. _________________ Asus a696 Win6, TTN7.450, UK725.1871

The cloned Mio168 is the Medion MD 95000 not the 100.
Click my signature below to see the Medion MD 95000, then click on the Specifications page. _________________
Apoligies Pocketgps, I stand corrected, I did say I was getting rusty, possibly getting mixed up with my 100 and 150, but It would still appear that the problem lies with it being win2003, whether upgradable or not appears to be the final answer. also noticed after posting that this is a dual posting. _________________ Asus a696 Win6, TTN7.450, UK725.1871

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. I gave two options for it not working 1. Device not compatible. 2. A copy.
You ignored my first option which appears to be the problem.

Which implies a standard SD Card is being used. In which case it WOULD be a copy because iGO8 doesn't come on a standard card. _________________ PGPSW Grand Finale Prize 2010 - TomTom Via LIVE 120 EUROPE. Which my son has stolen since he got a driving job so I'm back with

NO
I thought everyone would know that both the Igo 2006 and Igo 8 come on mini cards in standard sleeves.
I was saying that I cannot use the updated Igo 8 in my PDA that only takes micro cards. The update from Igo 2006 to Igo8 is by way of a download from the Navngo site and involves the use of the original Igo 2006 mini SD card (which of course needs the standard SD sleeve to work on the majority of PDA's.
Now what I really want is to download/try out the updated 2003SE OS rom software. BUT CAN I FIND IT -NO, probably because it is so long since the OS software was updated. Can anyone help by pointing me in the right direction. I've spent fruitless hours before asking for help.
If you do a search within this forum, you will find a posting that i did for upgrading the mio and somebody later updated it, one of the sites listed did various make updates incl Medion, I sure it was in the Mio section, I will also check my archives. I also have the tutorial. _________________ Asus a696 Win6, TTN7.450, UK725.1871
