I have a Haicom 303mf, with the bluetooth slipper, and a Sitecom CF bluetooth card. This all works well. I originally had the 303mf plugged directly into the Axim, (which also worked fine) but the Bluetooth setup is more convenient for use in the car as well. I use Tomtom Navigator in the car, then switch to Memory Map for walking. These are quite compatible on a Dell, in spite of what you may read elsewhere - I understand that some Pocket PCs dont have an app like switcher bar to kill closing programmes properly, so they have problems with TomToms GPS app.
When walking, its easier to have the 303mf in its slipper on top of my daysack, and the Axim in a front jacket pocket. The Axim with any CF GPS receiver in the hole is a bit clumsy.

I too once had my Axim connected to a handheld (GPS12) with a lead from Hobbitleads, but the bluetooth setup is much more convenient.
Go for it!
