I can't send you any maps, as they are too large, and probably also illegal...
In any case, I really cannot understand why TomTom behaves this way!!! |
Just redownloading my gbplus map and gonna try it ill post back in 20 min with a result hopefully |

Just to avoid misunderstandings, he means the "root" directory, so no directory.

I wonder why I am not so surprised...
Anyway at least I am happy that you proved what I am saying about TomTom 6 having the UIQ3 version and not talking about it!
By the way, I bought the product directly on the TomTom website, I couldn't really find any cheaper place... I have the software version with the maps of Western Europe. I cannot say whether the domestic versions have the UIQ3 software, but the Europe version that I have definitely has it... |

Yes it doesnt suprise me either, bit of a git really, i bought tomtom navigator 5 6 months ago with gb+ map for my windows mobile, then i switched to m600i a few months later so i basically blew £200 on nav5 that i cant use, id be happier if they released nav 5 for uiq3 but u cant win everything!! i think ill buy the same tt6 as yourself, cheers for letting me try out anyway, at least people know they can buy tt6 for uiq3 now |

I was prompted to install TomTom 6.02 and then got the flash screen, which country, which voice and which map questions. However without any maps can't get any further. So it looks like it should work.... |
Same also with my M600i.
I will try tonight to buy a city map from TomTom Plus service to see if it works |

Well, TomTom does not mention which Nav version their city maps are compatible with. I think it's still for Nav 5. But will try anyway, it costs only 5€. Will keep you informed. |

OK I got the GB+Western Europe Map for Nav 6 and activated etc and all is working Very well!! Takes about 30 sconds to get a gps signal, tttraffic works, tt weather, can receive calls, i havent tested anything else yet, will have a go later, the guidance/rendering is smooth and alot better than my old Palm Lifedrive and on par with my old eten m600. Thanks once again sirox for bring the news to our attention that the uiq3 version is ready/available and very stable!! |

So now we know it exists and it works. I'll buy one.
Only risk : if you have aby difficulty to get it work, do not expect TT support to help, they are not aware of the existence of the version for UIQ3 ! |

jkrashid, check your profile and the time zone settings! - unless you are about 10 hours infront of UK time, from the screen captures it would appear you have also managed to invent time travel - Mike |

@sirox, I just send a PM to you. I'd like to try if tomtom works on my p990. I have been using TTN 6 on y PPC and on my P910. I am exited to hear that it can actually work on the P990i......
