Ok I think I've found the answer (at least on my Medion) I found if you go to preferences-volume and uncheck the box for adjusting the volume to car speed, the maps are rock steady when the voice prompts occur..hope this helps |

what is it your doing? are you converting a medion to run on tomtom? if so you'll need to load the complete Navigator 5 installation not just the upgrade. |

First thanks very much for the guidance. But I think I have deleted a file in the MEDION folder!!
Could somebody please list what should be there
The follow up question is can it be sent to me - when I discover which it is!
Thanks |

Pilgarick,
you should be able to restore your device to its original condition.
Do a hard reset. Switch it off via the recessed switch at the back of the unit. Insert your original memory card. Switch it back on again. Voila! system restored.
If the file is missing from your memory card then you can restore your memory card from the cd roms supplied with the device.
Now you can start messing about with it again.
ad infinitum! |

Thanks B-B
I thought it would be easier and less hard work!
Can somebody help me withmodifying the Medion screen. When I am in The Checkpoint screens the Medion bootom strip persists and obscures enter and other options at the bottom. Can this screen be eliminated ? I don't like it anyway

Pilgarlick,
Not sure what you mean by "checkpoint screen". If you are referring to the windows taskbar this can be altered by clicking on "start, taskbar settings". always on top, auto hide etc. |

NOW TO INSTALL THE TT5 Software...
Download and extract 'pack.dll' and 'packdllxania' and copy all the DLLs to the \Windows directory on the Medion For those who may need the pack dll's Bertie has kindly zipped them on his site at http://www.bertouche.com/hosting/packdllxania.zip
Hope this is useful to someone.

Hi Niall,
First, thanks for doing all the donkey work
I have done the first bit, just need to get hold of TOM TOM 5 Software. I am sure I can bum a copy off someone local.
Anyway, just a query, when I was copying the *.dll files it asked if I want to overwrite a couple of existing files, which I said yes!?!?
I noted there was no mention of this in your splendid instructions.
I presume it was taken as read, or have I over-stepped the mark...
Regards

|

Hi,
I own a MD96800 (PNA250T), which I've managed to install TOMTOM 5.21 on, largely thanks to the instuctions posted by Niallf - thx a lot.
Will let you know how I get on with using it.
Couple of points:
1 had to uninstall medion Nav. software before tomtom would work??? (would load in task bar then shut down).
2 Once I'd done this, couldn't use settings programme ( to calibrate screen etc)???
Bye for now |

Hi Niallf, My name is Matt, I have used your posts with some success, still ahving trouble running the tomtom maps on my MD 96800. But I have the 5.1A maps anyway which seems up to date. I wanted to install POI Warner as I have the software and a keygen to unlock all versions of it, which I can send you if u need? I have also lots of maps. I just wanted to know what I would need , and what I need to do to get POI warner to run on my Medion Sat Nav? I need to know What stuff I need and how I go about it?
Thanks Mate
