I'm with you, have tried always to get a bitmap in there without any luck, it will be interesting to see if Garmin alter the software as the POI Loader help file still says that you can use bitmaps. Lets hope that this is a minor hiccup with the Beta version. I am also going to E mail Garmin about this, the more the merrier.

Just had the following reply from Garmin :-
I have just tested on a GPS in the office with the latest software, and it
worked you will have to make the images are 22h & 22w and they will load
into the GPS.
I'll give it a try tonight, but I bet he was using v4.8 - although I did say that it was 5.01 that was causing the problem. |

I've just checked & the Pocket GPS speedcam BMP's are 22x22 & these definately don't work.
Another email to Garmin I guess |

Waypoints.
I have 4.80.
On my C310. Whilst navigating, with reception, If I enter a second destination without cancelling the first I do not get an option to include this second destination as a way point. I assume this is a 5.01 feature.
Saving favourite location from map view. On the I3 just press wheel and hold. It there a similar quick save position on the C3xx I havent figured yet? I've tried brows map then touch somewhere , if that somewhere is close to a road or feature I sometimes get a new location. If I touch a place on a road , or an area shaded as industrial park I get a location to navigate to, but no way of getting the location to my favourites/ saving it for future use. ?? |

Garmin have released Beta version 5.02 correcting so,e of the bugs reported:
Changes made from version 5.01 BETA to 5.02 BETA:
Corrected a bug that was causing custom POI icons to not display properly.
Corrected a bug which was causing some routes to be calculated improperly.
Corrected a bug where telling the unit to 'Detour' would lose the via point if one was set.
Added ability to use 'HOME' as a via point when selected from the 'My Locations' page.
Corrected a bug where some routes would give less voice guidance then they should.

Further to the above, have just received the following from Garmin.
Hello,
This is simply a fault into he 5.01BETA software. We do say on the web page that this software is to be used at your own risk and is not supported by us simply due to its status. I would recommend you reinstall the 4.80 software until the final version of the 5.* software is released.
Regards,

It seems that not everybody at Garmin is aware of the latest fix
