[i3] Road Avoidance?

As a newbie, I'd like to start my first post by saying how impressed I am by the range of knowledge and information on this site. Some very clever people here! I'd also like to add how massively impressed I am with my Garmin i3. I was lucky enough to get mine at £99, and it has greatly exceeded all my expectations. As I've seen mentioned before, the motoring world will soon be split into those with GPS and those without. I'm glad I'm now in the first camp. I've got one question I wonder if anyone can help me with. There's a road in my area that is without doubt the shortest route to many places, and to other major intersections. The mapping software invariably uses it for all routes. Unfortunately this road is a single track farm road, often flooded, and so pot-holed it's really only usable by 4 x 4's. i would never willingly use it. Is there any way I can change any settings to cause this road to be ignored when calculating routes?

You could try checking "avoid unpaved roads" in the settings, this might do it.
