When I go to POI Loader and get to where it asks me for the location where the data can be found I click on browse and find the folder where I've saved January's POI. I then click on next I then get a message saying "There are no data files in that directory. Please specifya directory that contains at least one csv file" Please help, I know I'm thick.

Is the problem the fact I've not unzipped some files.I cant find any csv files anywhere where I've downloaded anything.

If you have correctly downloaded and unzipped the Garmin version of the Database you will have a folder named 'garmin'.

The .csv files are stored in that folder.

1. Download the file: 'garmin_jan06.zip' from this site.

2. Either use winzip on it or WinXP will automatically allow you to unzip it.

3. Go to the directory on your HDD where you unzipped it, and you should see a subdirectory called simply 'garmin' - containing 10 files - 5 *.csv files (containing the details for the safety cameras) and 5 matching *.bmp files (containing the icons for the different types of cameras).

4. Make sure you're using the latest POI Loader version v2.2.1 (else the monochrome camera graphics won't display properly once you've transferred them...) - and point POI Loader at the 'garmin' directory with the 10 files. Choose 'Feet and MPH', 'Express Mode' - then proceed.

5. POI Loader should report 7000-odd points transferred (the i3 screen says 'Transferring Data' or similar whilst this is happening...it's all over in around 5 seconds - very quick!

Good Luck! 8)

...oh, and once you've got the POIs installed, make sure you have Settings > Navigation > Proximity Alerts 'On' too... :D

I can now open the POI folders and see the POI ie KFC and all the speed cameras. Also the files I've unzipped are Excel spreadsheets,Bitmaps and csv files how now do I get the POI loader to recognisew these ? All that happens when the POI loader opens it gives me a option of folders but this is not including my Unzip files or my Garmin file where I've saved all the software.I've downloaded POI loader today the most recent 1 and I've got City Navigator Europe NT + 8 whatever that means.

The POI Loader interface allows you to navigate to the folder where the relevant (*.csv, *.bmp) files are found. If you're having trouble locating the directory, make it easy for yourself and first move 'garmin' (which was created by unzipping the downloaded safetycam zip file...) to C:\ for eg?

It's really not that hard an application to use 8O
