Hi,

I know the I3 isnt not supposed to have all the fancy features, however is it possible to get it to follow a specific route ?

For example I'm traveling from Ruislip to Croydon, if I ask the I3 to tell me the route it takes me through London into the congestion charge, if I set it to 'avoid tolls' it does actually change the route and avoids the congestion charge (was impressed with that).

However my knowledge of the routes and volume of traffic means I wouldnt take either route, I would travel away from London get on the M25, and come off at the A3 then come in that way. If I do that though with the I3 on, its just has a hissy fit keeps going 're-calc route' then hanging.

To get to the point (sorry) is there anyway I can say navigate me to the A3 (via the motorway), then navigate me in from the A3 to Croydon ? Or is the only option I have is to travel to the A3 with the I3 off then turn it on from there ?

you could use the single via method to get to the m25 , once there, you can replace the via with the a3 if its not routing that way

how about this for an elegant solution: if you know the route you want to take and know the best way to get to where you want to go, don't bother with sat nav?

just a thought

http://www.garmin.com/manuals/917_OwnersManual.pdf

Select your destination, start nav, select new destination without doing stop nav, do start nav, prompts "insert in route as via point"
