Basic question on the aerials being discussed here...how do you get to the outside of the vehicle. I imagined they would be two part and would couple through glass like some GSM aerials used to, but I am not so sure now.

I have it inside the back window . Workes ok there as it has no coatings on it.

There are some radial ones that retransmitted to the inside, but most people want to solve the windscreen issue, and so just what a antenna on the rear window etc as its normally only the front which is treated.

i.e. no signal on windscreen in my scenic, but put it on the driver's side window and get 4 bars. Alright to listen to, just slightly distracting to look at.
