i3 mapping glitch -advice please

New i3, loaded speedcams and tested unit on trip Cambridge-Hull. Faultless performance. Next day touring E Yorks, unit could not find major roads, posn arrow was way off, speedcam alerts vanished, frequent unprompted recalculating attempts. Then noticed that when the unit powers up, a new screen appears "please use the provided pc software to load maps etc etc. This is rubbish as there are no map CD's with the unit.

Performed the hard reset routine and everything now appears OK. Thank god for this forum as the garmin manuals give no advice on troubleshooting or resetting.

Anyone any ideas? If it's likely to re-occur, its going back.

take out the trans flash card and put it back in this will sort out this problem you may need to do it 2 or 3 times just check each time and do it till the i3 works ok hope this helps
