Where am I?

I've had my Quest for a few months now but there's something I still haven't figured out. If I let it make a route automatically I can follow it okay but I generally have no idea where I actually am a lot of the time.

Okay, so there are town names on the map but it's very hard to see those as I'm driving along without stopping the car to take a proper look.

Is there any way to get the Quest to show the town or district name in the information panel on the right hand side of the map? Failing that. is there some other way of finding out where I am that's compatible with driving?
