i3 Registration Code

Hi, just bought the i3 -Excellent value product- and not wanting to register it now with Garmin (waiting for v8). However I couldn't find the registration code anywhere and was wondering how I can register it in the future. Any help from people who have already registered would be appreciated.

When I tried to register the other day, the code from the battery compartment is too long to enter in the box on the Garmin website.
In another topic Garmin are quoted as saying that is no benefit in registering at present - so they will not let you !!

If you e-mail Garmin with the code under the battery lid they will send you a registration code

Hi,

I emailed Garmin with the serial number, and the reply I got was that there was no benefit from registering. See other threads.

Other people have also had the same reply.

Could this be a way of saying "wait to register and you'll have a better chance of getting map updates (or something else?)". I've never been told to hold of registering by a manufacturer - it's just a procedure. This sounds like Garmin are going to use the registration date of the device to decide on some sort of "benefit" for users. Otherwise they'd just let you register right away.
