|
|
I have just brought an I3 from argos which I have updated to version 2.7, and I have loaded speed camera POI from this site. I used nimh batteries and this was set to nimh in the settings.
After testing it out on a journey it turned it self off three times for apparently no reason in the space of two hours.
Is this unit faulty?? or is there something I am missing??
Many thanks in advance

I've had two units that have done the same, well, one that turned off randomly whilst navigating and one that turned off randomly when using the menu's.
I would take it back _________________ Garmin i3 | Orange SPV M500 with TomTom 5.10 |

Unsure about this but:
Look at the POIs you loadeed,
If you load 24bit speed camera POIs theres a chance it will switch off when it attempts to display them.
I converted all the POI images I use to 8 bit (256 colour). Absoloutely no switching off ever since. |

if you got MaFt's poi's loaded you should'nt have any problems displaying them...it might be the v2.70 firmware which is reported to be a bit buggy..try going back to version 2.50... _________________ *************************** |

thanks for the advice guys, I exchanged it for another unit and is now fine. Upgraded to v2.7 and added POI's with no problem. Must just have been a faulty unit.
Only problem now the new unit has map v7 |

if your original one had map version 8 on it then i'm sure you can go back to the shop and complain that they exchanged it for an out of date product and not 'like for like'
