I think the default setting for the brightness is 4 but can i set it to 5 all the time for maximum brightness (i take it it wont prematurly kill off the screen?)
Also what brightness setting do you have it on for nighttime viewing?
I know there is a nightime and a daytime setting... (e.g it reverses colours at night to look darker) does it also vary the brightness aswell thanks
also what volume do u have it at for city and motorway driving... thanks |

i've not changed brightness so i presume mine's on 4 too. not had a problem with it. night use is fine as it makes the background very dark blue and the roads red. stops glare on the windscreen as well as making it kinder to the eye.
volume-wise, i have it on 4 (i always like to reserve the option of having it a bit louder if i need to). 4 is loud enough, but if i'm flying down the m62 at 95 (sorry, i mean 70) then i usually knock it up to 5.

My volume and brightness stay at 5 all the time. And I'm an M62 regular as well... |

I have the screen brightness on 3. Has always seemed adequate to me. And I use the auto night / day thing.
I have a PMP, too, and the screen brightness set is very significant to the amount of battery run time you get.
The volume on 3 is OK for me, even for motorway journeys, assuming I don't have the radio on. With the radio on (and the radio has auto volume control - poignant for motorway driving), I tend to have it on 4. I tried 5, but found it too loud.
4 is a good setting for me, although if I'm driving with the radio off, it can seem a bit on the loud side, too. |
