I purchased a second hand quest a while back with no box or software or details with it,only the holder, charger and usb cable. The maps in it are v6,does anyone know if its possible to buy the maps from garmin even though i have no reciept's or other details. If this is possible what would the total cost be to do this?thanks

You need to go back to the seller and ask them for the maps. Failing that, contact Garmin with the serial number and tell them you brought it but don't have the maps or unlock code. If the GPS was registered by the original owner then Garmin may be able to contact them.

The v7 upgrade costs about £100, but v8 is coming out real soon now so you might want to wait for it.

It is odd that they sold it without the map CD and unlock code, the seller would have known how important these items were. Hopefully the GPS unit is not stolen or Garmin will probably refuse to deal with you....
