Technical Support required please
Reason:
I'm having problems with Current Database Version: v3.064 of the safety camera download?
I have brought the TomTom Navigator 5 from globalpositioningsystems.co.uk,
althought they give your product as a FOC software they do not offer advise on insallation?
Please can you advise where to place the files after extracting from the zip folder? your forum page is not aimed at Nav 5 users yet?
i do not want to jepordise the tom tom navigator software on the SD card.
My handheld is an IPAQ 1940 and i am running the above TT software, please can you let me know where they need to be placed, and if it is all of them! |

You don't need the .wav files for TTN5. If you want spoken warnings for POI's you need to read http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php _________________ Richard

once again thanks, unfortunatly it did not work, i hvae TT5N, on IPAQ 1940, but when i downloaded and renamed existing file in TT folder on SD card it didnt pick it up, i kept the original file in the TT directory, but called it OLDDATA.CHK, not DATA.CHK(i also kept the uppercase name) ?
i even tried to move to Voices directory, still no joy all the old sounds!
i suppose i will have to stay with the default noises
thank you. |

I also have TT5 including the Western Europe maps but with a Mio 168 instead of an Ipaq PC. Do the same instructions for downloading the safety camera database etc. hold true for this device?

joy, i have managed to get the voices to work, this was by a series of detection, on the Ipaq SD card version the base information was in a different directory. the speed camera information now comes through, the only two negatives are that when an icon appears for Gatso on the map you cannot(unless proved otherwise) determine if a 30, 40, 50 camera?, so by default have set as 30.
hope this helps. : |

You have loaded, I think, the 5 files Gatso, Mobile, Redlight, Specs and Temporary.
If you want the various speed related files you need the ov2 and bmp's in the speed zoned Folders. _________________ Richard
