|
|
Hi I see that the Quest offers 750,000 Points of Interest. When I had the option to get the Roadmate 700 it offered 2 Million Point of Interest.
Is it possible (or is there any upgrades) to get added Points of Interests to equal the Roadmate or more advanced GPS units?
Thanks! |

It is technically possible to create an overlay map (like WiRED's speed camera POI map) but I don't know of any company which sells additional POI maps. _________________ Gone fishing! |

Do you know how you create overlay maps? What software is suitable, etc? It seem like a good idea to create these maps instead of using long lists of POIs? Anybody know of any disadvantages (apart from you can not add or take bits of info?)
Cheers,

No. Sorry.
Do a google on cgpsmapper and gpsmapedit, or have a look at http://www.elsinga.net/maps to see some pointers about how to create your own maps. The answer is somewhere in there, but I have never had enough time to hunt for it.
Or maybe WiRED can tell us how he did it? _________________ Gone fishing! |
