I am embarrassed. A friend asked me if I would register and install on her PC her new Start 20. "No problem" I said. I installed TT Home and then discovered it should be My Drive Connect (MDC). But I cannot get MDC to recognize her satnav. I suspect it is short of a driver but, no matter how I try I don't seem to be able to install one. The satnav is connected to the PC via USB and switched on but MDC says it isn't. The sat nav asked me if I wanted to be connected to the PC and I clicked on "Yes". I have tried all ways but I can't get MDC to accept the satnav.
Can someone spare my blushes please. _________________ Bazzza

(edit) I just read on the internet that someone had the same problem and changed the lead he was using to connect the satnav to the PC and had no more trouble. I'll give it a try. _________________ Bazzza

MyDrive Connect is crap. There is no option to add community content. |

Thanks Richard, but I have followed all the instructions that TT give for non-recognition and it doesn't work. I'm going to try a different lead and see if that helps. I'll keep you posted. _________________ Bazzza

I can not get my daughter's Go400 to connect to my XP PC but it connects to my W7 laptop. _________________ Garmin Drive 51LMT-S EU

Tried a different lead and registered her on My Drive on my computer. It recognized the Start 20 immediately and the rest went without a hitch.
Thanks Richard for your help. Her faith in me is restored. _________________ Bazzza

Thanks Richard for your help. Her faith in me is restored. |
But the plot thickens: when she tries to connect her Start 20 to her own computer it won't connect and goes on about needing a driver again.
What it boils down to is that it works ok on my computer but not on hers. Help! _________________ Bazzza

Does Event Viewer give any clues about what driver it thinks is missing and is this on all available USB ports?
Simply connecting any USB device shouldn't do that as far as I know. _________________ Satnav:

Sorry, you've obviously mistaken me for someone who knows something about computers. What is "Event Viewer"? Only tried 2 ports. Cheers,

Oh OK. Event Viewer is a Windows tool that shows any issues. It's possible that plugging in a device may trigger a logfile entry. _________________ Satnav:
