All,
Perhaps Tommo could help to validate this..
I've been passed a warning from my sister that the latest craze of our lovely yoof is to drive about at night with no lights on.
Should a vehicle flash them, the 'game' is to turn around & chase the other vehicle. The warning states that this little wheeze has progressed to the little darlings talking a pot shot at the rear of the vehicle!!
The warning suggests that it may be best to NOT 'flash' any vehicles with no lights on in the dark.
Personally, I've warned my Co's Fleet guys...truth be known, they've never investigated the use of Bi- Xenon lights...so I couldn't expect them to be aware of this!!!

Pls see below a copy of the security warning, released by the NHS in Manchester..

"Security

Warning - We have received a warning from the London Ambulance Service of activities in their area. Whilst the below behaviour is not common place in our area I have spoken with Greater Manchester Police and their risk assessment of the action is to circulate it as a potential'

The London Ambulance service have units closely associated with the Police based in South London who are basically Fighting Gang Crimes. The 'street gangs' in London (particularly South London at present, but it is sure to spread) have initiation tasks which new gang members have to carry out to be admitted to the 'gang'. The latest craze is to drive around at night, deliberately with no lights on their cars. The first person who 'flashes' them, points at them or sounds their horn at them, has to be followed by that new gang member in their car, who then has to fire a shot into that vehicle with no regard as to who is inside.

Our official instruction is that if we see a vehicle with no lights on, we are NOT to 'flash' it etc. and the advice to friends and family is that you should ignore any vehicles you see without lights. I would ask that you pass this info on to all your family, friends and colleagues and who knows, it may save a life.

Trust Security Manager"

I hope that this never affects anyone on this site..or elsewhere!!!

Always good advice to run a sample selection from the text of these warnings through Google, 99 times out of 100 they are hoaxes.

The only point of them is to clog up mail servers when they are passed on to everyone in your address books. Well meaning as it may be, always check first.

It's normally the bit at the bottom of these that gives them away.

(please pass this on to all your freinds etc. etc.)

When you get these emails, please don't pass them on, leave that to the bbc if it is news worthy. Otherwise delete them.

Why.

Next time you get an email like this, look at all the email addresses at the top of the email, then find your own there, then imagine who else can see those emails, then wonder why you get so much spam! Rolling Eyes

Believe it or not, this mail came from the head of my sister's department.
My sister passed it down to her teams & me.
The mail only had two addressees on...hence why it appeared (at face value) to be 'plausible'....
Knowing her 'status' in her Co (it's a utlitity Co...gas/water/electricity), I'd hoped that it had been verified!!!

Oh well..there's one born every minute..... This time it's me!!! Embarassed Embarassed
I'm now standing in a corner, facing a wall, thinking about what I've done!!!

Nope...I'd just remembered that I'd got it.....
I never pass on mails with attachments anyhow.
Besides, it did appear to come from an 'official source', so didn't want to drop my sister in it.

Don't worry, even though i've told my MD that he shouldn't pass these things on or believe every threat of 20 years bad luck he'll get if he doesn't pass these emails on, I still get them and my spam filter is running overtime.

I think we've educated you in time, now pass this on to every one in your address book. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Have any of your children received the Guinness Book of Records snail mail yet. Vera's granddaughter and her mum were convinced it's genuine. Confused

let me guess: they send it to a friend and microsoft trace it through the internet post office and donate $100 to ugandan midwives for every letter that gets sent; this $100 is not only used to train the ugandan midwives but a portion of it goes towards purchasing copies of the guinness book of records (which re cheaper in uganda than over here) which then get posted back to the person who sent the initial chain letter and then a new entry gets added in the 2009 edition under 'world record for biggest pile of codswallop'?
