I want to plan journeys on a tablet. Unfortunately Google maps has no option for shortest route v fastest route, etc.

I've noted that the TomTom Android app is free and allows up to 50 free driving miles a month.

My tablet never moves and would be purely an armchair planning tool so would this app be suitable and be free?

TomTom Android doesn't offer you a choice of route, that has to be preset in settings so it would be a bit of a faff looking at different options, but as long as your armchair isn't exceeding the monthly allowance it will be free to use.

Thanks

I've taken the plunge and it does allow me to change routing options fairly easily so job done.

Just need a wheel clamp for the chair now.

Armchairs need handcuffs, not wheel clamps.

You seem not to have noticed that I finished my sentence with not just one, but two prepositions. Very bad form according to some.

I most certainly DID notice, but I refrained from commenting with a view to maintaining my record of posts which are extremely useful, pertinent and relevant.

Don't do that Dennis, it would severely curtail the increase in your magnificent post count.
