I agree with everyones comments about Navcore9 - don't use it on a device it hasn't been released for - hang fire and wait.

TT appear to be in a transitional period in regards to the Linux kernel - the x50 range use a different kerne hence why standby and LIVE don't work properly on older devices.

A 940 loaded with the Fiat Blue Me Navcore 9 is what you want as this does offer different routes depending upon vehicle type using the standard map, have a look at This
I would suggest you get a 4GB MicroSD card for the software to go on along with a map, once you have got the memory card we can point you in the direction of installing it - Mike

yeah, ive seen this video, thats exactly what i am after, i have already got a 8gb micro card for my unit, how do i go about installing it onto my micro card ? cheers

Did you look at the link I found for you above?
The download location and some instructions are in the last two posts on page one.

If its a 940 running the Blue Me software then the mp3 player should work fine (mine does/ did, as you have seen).

As for the silly icon on the left side of the screen go to change preferences/ quick menu preferences and deselect whatever stupid option TomTom have enabled on the device (probably something to do with the phone) - Mike

The only way to get rid of the handsfree green icon using Nav9 on an x40 is either to delete the pairing with the mobile as it will not permanently deselect from the quick menu or to add another item which gives you a different icon to the shortcut menu which is equally annoying.

Do you have a mp3d file in the bin folder on the device?

If not, copy one from another Navcore release in to that folder.

The route is certainly different when using the different vehicle profiles but whether it will avoid low bridges etc I have no idea, for that to work I would expect you to need the Truck maps - Mike

had a playaround with the routings whilst in truck mode, and its sending me down roads where the bridge is too low for the truck, so the tt maps does not know where all the bridges are. ive seen somewhere on this site where you can download a low bridges program, if i was to do this, would the tt maps then know where all the low bridges are ? cheers

You would get a warning from the device for a low bridge POI file as you approach it (if configured for warning against this POI file) but the device has no way to avoid POI so it won't prevent it routing you under such a hazzard - Mike

That doesn't surprise me at all, the battery seems to get used at a very high rate with that Navcore installed, leave it connected to a charger 24/7 - Mike
