Easy PocketNAV has launched OnCourse Navigator 6 in California this weekend.

Coupled with the launch of this new navigation package www.buygpsnow.com are giving away 2 copies of OnCourse Navigator 6, one with Europe mapping, and one with US Mapping. To win a copy of this software all you need to do is send an email to [email protected] with your name and address, and the version of mapping you would like and the answer to the following question:

What navigation software is OnCourse Navigator 6 based on?

The competition closes on 19th April 2007. The winners will be picked at random from the correct entries in each category (USA and Europe) on the 21st April at the PocketGPSWorld.com SatNav Expo.

Chino Hills, CA - March 30, 2007 -

Easy PocketNAV, Inc announces its latest version of OnCourse Navigator GPS Navigation software powered by Nav N Go Kft (the creator of iGO navigation software)

OCN6 highlights:
Plug & Go - Insert the included memory card into your device, OCN6 will automatically launch, installed in a few seconds and you are ready to GO!
Easy to use - Simple and intuitive menus give you the perfect navigation experience.
Stunning 3D - Impressive 3D navigation view with smart zoom to automatically zoom in for each turn and zooms out right after you made a turn.
Detailed maps of USA and Canada pre-loaded - Seamless navigation across North America, for example Los Angeles to Toronto.
Choice of 3 or 12 million POIs packages - Easily locate restaurants, hotels, gas stations and more. POI database covers a huge 3 millions listing on OCN6 Deluxe edition and 12 millions listings on OCN6 Premium.
Zero Risk: 30-day, 100% no-questions-asked money-back guarantee.

OnCourse Navigator 6 (OCN6) is designed to make navigation on a Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 Phone or Microsoft Pocket PC as easy to use as a Personal Navigation device (PND). User will simply insert a pre-programmed memory card included with OCN6, the software will be installed within 30 seconds and ready to use. No activation, no software registration, no copying of maps is required.

OCN6 comes with pre-programmed memory card of 1GB and 2GB with the latest map data from TeleAtlas date Jan 2007. OCN6 comes preloaded road maps of entire USA and Canada (Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam included) as well as over 3.5 millions points of interest in a 1GB version amd 12.5 millions on the 2GB version.

Joe Kee, president of Easy PocketNAV, Inc, said, "We are very happy to find our new partner, Nav N Go Kft to power our next generation of OnCourse Navigation software. Nav N Go Kft has a team of talented software developers that is capable to bring radical changes to the mobile navigation technologies. They continuously develop user friendly application that delight and amaze users everywhere. With this new concept of delivering GPS software on a pre-programmed memory card and without the need to register or activate the product, we think this is the ultimate “Plug & Go” navigation system for the Pocket PC Phones and PDAs!

Here are some exciting new features of OCN6:

Tunnel Mode
This function allows the program to continue navigating even when the GPS signal is lost, by using the last recorded speed and the planned route, until the next maneuver. So in tunnels or among tall buildings, the software will pinpoint your position even if the GPS unit loses the signal for several seconds.

Address book and Telephone functions
People who use the address book function in their PDA or a pocket PC that has telephone functionality will be glad to see this. OCN6 automatically imports the contents of the address book to your personal POIs, letting you see your contacts’ location on the map. This makes entering destinations easier, since all you have to do is click on the names of people or businesses stored in the list. Every contact can be stored with three different addresses (Home, Business, and Other). Another useful feature: you can call the numbers stored with the POIs directly from OCN6, even while navigating.*
*With supported phones.

Smart Keyboard
A useful innovation: when searching for addresses with the keyboard, only keys for possible next letters are active. The others are inactive and grayed out.

Smarter Address Searching
This is another feature that speeds up address searches: when you enter the number of a street address, the list of popular street names is filtered. This is useful when searching for a street name that appears more than once in a city, in different parts of town. On the new OCN6, the only addresses that come up on the list are those where the number entered actually exists.

Expanded Route Planning
Thanks to a few modifications, OCN6 plans routes even faster than before. Now it even takes into account that trucks and buses make slower progress: in such vehicles, it calculates based on a slower speed and on different routes than for automobiles. This makes the estimated travel time even more accurate.

Smart Zoom
The road ahead of you always appears from the best possible angle, because as you are approaching a point, the map switches to 3D view, and as you move away, it gradually reverts to 2D. This makes browsing the map simpler and faster.

Im the Europe winner. wehey. The software is really good and the automatic checking of your BT ports is really handy instead of having to configure it yourself. However Gee-Pees comment with the software covering Eastern Europe is not correct. For instance the Czech Republic and Croatia are missing.
So when in the UK I shall use OCN but when in eastern Europe shall be using Navigator 6 by Directions Ltd.
