To try and help you a little further try re-reading the above.

Some on here can evidently see the point I'm trying to make, others evidently can't, fair enough.
I've not yet bought a TT TMC receiver and won't be until either I can receive assurances and guarantees from those who are retailing them for the UK that the units they are currently selling are exactly the same spec as the units which will go on general sale in this country or when the receivers are actually on general sale. As yet I'm still waiting on both.

you might like to know that a new firmware "ver 6.520" is out for the 910 only,and it is trying to resolve the TMC problems.

I have used it for a few days now and it does look at 100.10 more often.

I have just returned from France, and I can tell you that the receiver is not much better there.

Finally tried mine tonight on the outskirts of Coventry - the verdict? UTTER RUBBISH It does lock on to Classic FM sometimes upstairs in the house, with antenna hung outside the bedroom window but nothing in the car. Has anyone ripped one open yet and hard wired a sensible antenna in?

I have a TOMTOM 910 with firmware 6.52 the latest update
Tried a TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic in Cheltenham which would only pick up severn sound which is no good for rds-tmc.
Then tried the unit on a run to the otherside of Bristol and back about
90 miles with only getting the GREEN light on in Bristol then off again
in all about 90 miles of motorway and 1.5hrs of driving all motorway
about 15mins of signal.
I did even try the Aerial on the outside of the car this result was the same
I did try both settings for rds tmc but no luck.
The idea of the unit is superb but using the unit was hopeless.
Tried again on another journey hoping all was ok but same again.

I then thought this is useless so obtained a RMA number and got my money refunded.
What a dissapointment in what could have been a brilliant unit
Oh well lets hope tomtom can sort things out, When I rang TOMTOM
they said the unit is fine it is a poor signal causing the problem which they say is beyond there control!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
