The Navman Files are ASC Files. They are Text Files and the Data is laid out the same as the CSV Files.

The difference is that the CSV File has a header, which Navman doesn't need, or use.;)

Read the helpfile here. Although it was written for the Safety Camera database, it holds true for all custom POIs. Click on my www button for a link to a website containing some POIs.

thanks for your advice but i still have same problem, i save camera files to a folder on desktop then active sync my navman 720 then open smart st desktop 2006, when i clickon map then points of interest the box that opens only asks for csv files so as new camera database files are asc they do not appear in the box so there is nothing to import. i have had no problem importing poi's before with my navman 520 so i have some experience

That's strange. The Desktop POIEditor has never specifically asked for .csv files before. My POIEditor for the iCN530 (not quite the same I know, but close enough) has (*.*) in the box, meaning that I can select any file, although only valid ones will be used. Try renaming the file and changing the .asc to .csv and see if that makes any difference.

Well they use the same app as the 530 (or so Navman told me) and that app has no trouble reading .asc files.
