In the centre of London the other day I found it really annoying that while using the 3D view the green arrow was'nt updating quick enough.

Any ideas guys ;)

The blue arrow normally updates once per second. If the GPS is struggling to maintain a positional fix, such as in "urban canyons" (i.e. where you're surrounded by high buildings, so the GPS can see few satellites, and the accuracy of those it can pick up may be being further diluted by their signals reflecting off the buildings), then this can start to appear more intermittent as the software can't tell so clearly where you are or which direction you're heading. The problem is compounded in city centres when there are many narrow roads close together, because TomTom has much less margin of error in guessing which road you're on, so it's more likely to guess wrong; and you're quite likely to be repeatedly moving a short distance then sharply changing direction, which doesn't help either!
No real fix for it unless you want to start buying different GPS models and comparing how well they do, which will get expensive.
One thing that helps me, though it may be personal, is to switch to 2D view when in city centres. Not sure why, but my brain seems to process and memorize the 2D city centre map info better than in 3D, so I can compensate faster when TomTom starts to struggle.
