Hi, Smile
It's been a while sine my last post.
I decided to take the plunge Confused and upgrade SmartSt from v2 to v3 purely becuase I could import POI and had the latest Australian Maps.

The problem is that it now takes about 5-6 minutes for the unit to get a GPS fix since the upgrade. I didn't have this problem with v2.
I usually got a fix within 1min - 1.5min.

I have the sleeve on a Ipaq 5450 running ppc 2003 (same config as v2)

Any advice on how I can improve the time for the unit to get a GPS fix would be greatly appreciated.

Apart from this quirk I am really happy with the changes Navman have made to v3.

Thanks in advance
JV

Is yours the original sleeve or the SE flavour? The SE has an external antenna jack on the side as well as saying NavmanSE on the front. The SE is a lot quicker to acquire a signal and lots of people have used antistatic bags between the iPAQ and the sleeve on the original type, which appears to speed up lock times substantially.

Hi Tim
Thanks for your post.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I have been away.

My version is the SE Sleeve with external antenna. As I said I didn't have this problem using SmartSt v2 only has been happening with the latest SmartSt v3 software. I have downloaded service pack 1 for ppc but has made no difference.
