I use my Tomtomgo in a lorry which has a 24v system. The problem is i can`t recharge it as Tomtomgo requires a 12volt supply. Yes i could have a 24v to 12v dropper installed but i drive a different vehicle every day so i need a portable dropper if you see what i mean, or a different solution all togetherin order to charge my tomtom from the cab. Any suggestions would be really apreciated. i am totally stuck with thie one. |

Why not buy a "Power Station" the type which can start cars if they have a flat battery, they have a accessory socket for 12v equipment.
the charge will last for days, and you can use it for other things as well. _________________ Using an A to Z

The charger lead supplied with TomTomGO will fit a 12v or 24v supply. Well that's what mine says.
The TomTom itself works off 5 volts, so you would need to use the lead they supply anyway. If you connect 12v directly TTG will burn! |

As stated above, the charger supplied with the GO unit is 12v/24v so it'll work fine _________________ Darren Griffin |

Interestingly, the label on the plug itself says 12/24v - but I can only find references to 12v in the handbook and other documentation.
A 24v truck would actually produce more than 24v when the engine is running and the alternator is charging the battery. I assume TTG's power supply can cope with this ok? |

I have used my TTG in a Truck every working day since last August . No problems at all. 12/24v input, 5v to TTG output. Also never had to charge with the mains charger, the fag lighter thing does it all. |
