I have been a Navman/GPS for about 8 weeks now. 5 weeks on V1.91 and 3 weeks on V3, using a navman 3450 on a ipaq 3970
I must say that i find the total accuracy of the maps on V3 very dissappointing. The only real advantage is the custom POI's, which means i don't need my cyclops anymore.
I would say that 70% of journeys that i have tried to navigate to have took more than 10 minutes to find in the addresses section, as the addresses just don't show up on the database.
I know that what i have just written has pretty much aleady been mentioned in previous threads, but i just thought that i would add to and possible be the straw that brokes Navmans back in to addressing the issues.
The Navtech maps on v1.91 are far superior, its a shame they won't give evryone the option of upgrading V.3 to navtech map data. |

hmmmm....thanks for that, I'll hold off for a bit.
I was just about to upgrade from 1.92 to 3, driven by the POI issue and assuming that maps are more up to date (did a 10 mile detour the other day due to a new road not being on the map). |

As you say the move to teleatlas was a big step backwards. The 1.91 maps were far more accurate than V2 ones.
As far as i know they did it for cost reasons and it shows - you get what you pay for !. Shame they can't offer Navtech maps as an option even it has a slight price premium. |
