There is a big problem finding places in TTN2 as all places are listed under the local councils not the Counties.

I've just spent 10 minutes trying to find Sudbury in Suffolk and had to check on Google to find out that Sudbury (Babergh) is what I want. No one in there right mind would assemble addresses like this, Babergh is not on any addresses, road signs etc - I travel to this town 20 times a year and I would never associate it with the district council.

Total madness and lack of understanding how UK addresses work - come on Tomtom surely you have at least one beta tester in the UK who would have pointed this out in half a second.

I am not having any crashes with the software but this highlights a fundamental problem of the program.

Ian - increasingly dissapointed with TTN2.

Ian,

I agree that it would be much better to use county names. The case that you have cited, Sudbury (Babergh), is present in TomTom Navigator 1. So I guess we (that is TTN1 users) are to blame for not asking TomTom to use county names.

I suspect the problem is more likely to be a Tele Atlas problem than a TomTom problem. It's likely it is their location database, and if they don't use counties them TomTom won't be able to use them
